Making the invisible visible — so every diver can explore underwater caves with confidence.
Depthline started because the underwater caves that captivate divers are also among the most dangerous environments on Earth. Every year, experienced divers are caught off guard by passages they couldn't see, restrictions they didn't expect, and conditions that changed between visits.
We believed there had to be a better way. By combining modern sonar technology with AI-powered processing, Depthline creates detailed 3D maps of cave systems that any recreational diver can access, study, and use to plan safer, more confident dives.
Our goal is to build the most comprehensive underwater cave atlas on the planet — crowd-sourced by the dive community, available to everyone.
Marcus founded Depthline after a decade of cave diving across Florida, Mexico, and the Mediterranean. Having witnessed firsthand how limited mapping tools could put divers at risk, he set out to build something better — a platform that combines the precision of sonar with the accessibility of modern software.
"The caves don't change, but our understanding of them is always incomplete. Depthline is about closing that gap — giving every diver a map they can trust, built from real data, not guesswork."
Every feature we build starts with one question: does this make the dive safer? If not, we rethink it. Depthline exists to reduce risk, not encourage recklessness.
Bad data is worse than no data underwater. We continuously validate our sonar processing against physical surveys and expert cave mapping teams.
The cave atlas is built by divers, for divers. Beta testers aren't just users — they're partners shaping what Depthline becomes.
Your dive data and cave scans belong to you. We never sell diver data to third parties. You choose what to share and what stays private.
We work with cave conservation groups to ensure mapping activity doesn't damage fragile environments. Depthline promotes responsible exploration.
Depthline isn't just a tool — it's a learning platform. We help divers understand cave environments better so they make smarter decisions at depth.
Questions, feedback, or just want to talk caves? We'd love to hear from you.
